# AI Prototype Development: Test Your Idea in About 2 Weeks

An AI prototype shows within a short time whether your AI idea works: as an interactive application with real AI models and your data instead of a slide deck. Context Studios typically builds such prototypes in 10–15 working days. This lets you convince management and investors and make well-founded decisions before investing in full development.

An AI prototype is a working demonstration of an AI solution that makes the interplay of interface and AI model tangible with real data, but with simplified infrastructure and a limited feature set. It serves as a basis for decisions: stakeholders see the AI in action, and domain experts assess the quality of the results.

Entity: AI Prototype Development

Specialisation: Interactive AI prototypes, stakeholder demos, investor presentations

Technologies: Claude, GPT, Next.js, Vercel, Figma, Framer Motion

Target group: C-level, investors, innovation managers, business units

Typical project duration: Usually 10–15 working days to the interactive prototype

Compliance: Data protection compliant, test data can be anonymised

## Why is a prototype the best way to start?

Six advantages of the prototype-first approach

### Seeing instead of imagining

Slide decks and technical concepts rarely convince. An interactive prototype instead shows the solution in action – with real data and real AI results. Stakeholders experience the solution instead of just reading about it.

### Results in about 2 weeks

Our goal is an interactive prototype in 10–15 working days. With pre-built components, proven AI integrations and a deliberately focused scope, we reach this pace without compromising on the quality of the results.

### Lower investment risk

If the prototype shows that the AI does not deliver the desired quality, you get clarity early, before larger budgets flow into full development. Even a negative result is therefore a valuable basis for decisions.

### Early stakeholder feedback

With a prototype, everyone involved – from the business unit and IT to management – can evaluate the AI solution and give feedback. Misunderstandings and differing expectations become visible before they lead to costly changes in the development phase.

### Convince investors

For startups and corporate ventures, a working prototype is a convincing part of any pitch. Investors can experience the technology live instead of just seeing slides.

### Well-founded architecture decisions

The prototype delivers valuable technical insights: which AI models deliver the best results? Which response times are achievable? Where are the limits of the technology? These insights feed directly into the architecture of full development and avoid detours later on.

## How does prototyping work?

### Consultation call

Free initial call via video. We get to know your business, identify AI potential and give you a first assessment of feasibility and schedule.

### Proposal & planning

You receive a written proposal with scope, schedule and fixed price for the prototype, including the two or three core scenarios it should show.

### Build the prototype

We build the prototype with real AI models and your (anonymised) data and align interim results with you at short notice. Goal: an interactive prototype in about 10–15 working days.

### Demo & recommendation

A live presentation explaining the AI logic, written documentation of the findings and a go/no-go recommendation with a roadmap for the next steps.

## Questions about prototype development

Q: What is the difference between a prototype and an MVP?

A: A prototype demonstrates the solution to stakeholders and validates the concept; it is above all a communication and decision tool. An MVP, on the other hand, is a usable product that real end users use day to day, with stable infrastructure, testing and operations. Often the prototype is the sensible step before the MVP.

Q: Does the prototype use real AI or is it just a simulation?

A: Our prototypes use real AI models such as Claude, GPT or Gemini that process requests in real time and deliver results. This is crucial so that stakeholders can judge the actual quality of the solution. Simulations or prepared answers would create a false picture.

Q: Can I reuse the prototype code for later development?

A: Partly, yes. We deliberately build on the same tech stack as for full products, such as Next.js, TypeScript and Convex. AI integrations, API layers and data models in particular can often be reused directly in later development. We record which parts can be carried over in the documentation.

Q: Can you present my prototype to investors?

A: Yes, we are happy to run the technical demo for investors. We know the questions investors ask about AI technology and can present both the product vision and technical feasibility clearly. Alternatively, we prepare your team so that it can run the demo confidently itself.

Q: How do you handle sensitive company data in the prototype?

A: We can work with anonymised or synthetic data that reflects the structure and complexity of your real data. If real data is needed, we sign NDAs and work in protected environments. The prototype can be configured to run only in a password-protected demo environment.

Q: What do I receive at the end of the prototyping process?

A: At the end you receive, first, an interactive, deployed prototype with its own URL; second, a live presentation explaining the AI logic; third, written documentation of the technical findings; and fourth, a go/no-go recommendation with a roadmap. This gives you everything you need for the next decision.

Q: What happens if the prototype shows that the AI isn't good enough?

A: Then the prototype has saved you money. A negative finding at the prototype stage is much cheaper than failing after months of full development. In the documentation we explain why the AI does not meet the requirements and show alternatives, such as other models, better data or a different scope for the use case.

Q: How many scenarios can a prototype cover?

A: We recommend focusing the prototype on two or three core scenarios that demonstrate the greatest value. More scenarios mean more effort and dilute the message: three convincing scenarios have more impact than ten half-finished features. The full feature set is then shown by the MVP.

Q: What does an AI prototype cost?

A: The effort depends on the number of scenarios, the data situation and integrations. For many projects our Prototyping Sprint (2 days) at a fixed price of €4,500 is a good fit. For more extensive prototypes: fixed price after scoping, proposal within 48 hours. This way you know exactly what to expect before you start.
